William E. Gordon Jr., of Chadds Ford, died Monday, Jan. 9,
at the Chester County Hospital. He was the husband of Mary Jo DeMatteo Gordon,
with whom he shared 30 years of marriage.
Born in Bryn Mawr, he was the son of the late William E.
Gordon, Sr., and the late Margaret Bernstiel Gordon.
He was a member of St. Cornelius Church.
Bill was a Corporate Attorney at the DuPont Company in
Wilmington, retiring in 2011, after 27 years of service.
He was a member of the Wilmington Country Club, an avid
golfer, and enjoyed sports and traveling.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, William
E. Gordon, III (Mia); three brothers, Dennis Gordon (Lucy-deceased),
Eugene Gordon (Julia) and Kevin Gordon ( Mary); one sister, Anne
Campellone (Pat), and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday morning,
Jan. 14, at St. Cornelius Church, 160 Ridge Road, Chadds Ford, PA. Burial will
be private.
