Judith (Judi) A. Riley Donohoe Krause of Landenberg

Judith (Judi) A. Riley Donohoe Krause, 63, of Landenberg,
died on Dec. 17, in the Heartland Hospice Center, after losing her battle with
breast cancer. Judi was born on Feb. 27, 1948, in Philadelphia, to Elinor Jane
and Thomas. W Riley, Sr. She was raised in Holly Oak, in the house built by her
father. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and attended Brevard
College in N.C. Most recently, she was employed as an office manager and
sales manager at Brownfield Associates in West Grove. Prior to that, she worked
for 13 years as a purchasing sales analyst for Foamex International.
Perhaps the work she found most rewarding was caring for children in her own
child care center out of her own home.

Judi loved animals and nature and supported environmental
causes and land conservation. She also volunteered at Longwood Gardens.
She enjoyed country life in Landenberg, helping her husband raise Christmas
trees, making Christmas wreaths for gifts to friends and family, and tending to
her flower gardens. She was a talented photographer, and she especially
enjoyed entertaining friends and family in her home. She was a member of
the Unitarian Universalist Society of Mill Creek where she had served as a board
member, volunteered as a Sunday School teacher, ran the Attic Treasures fund
raiser, and was very active with her Chalice Circle.

Judi is survived by her loving husband, Stephen L. Krause,
of Landenberg; daughter, Catherine Williamson (Brian) of Wilmington, and their
children Kyle and Patrick; a daughter Lisa Donohoe of Beaufort, S.C.;
step-children Stephen R. Krause (Trish) of Fort Myers, Fla. and their son
Stephen, Jr.; John Abram Krause (Aimi) of Novato, Calif. and their children
Chase, Grady and Alexis; and Heidi Sasso of Wilmington, and her son Sereno. She
is also survived by sisters Pat Queripel (James) of Wilmington, , Nancy Nace
(Joseph) of New jersey, brother Thomas W. Riley, Jr. (Ann) of Chadds Ford, and
their daughter Siobhan Riley, and many cousins and in-laws.

A celebration of her life will be held at First Unitarian
Church, 730 Halstead Road, Wilmington, DE 19803 on Thursday, Dec. 22 at 2
p.m. . Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to
Brandywine Conservancy, P O Box 141, Chadds Ford, PA 19317 or to the First
Unitarian Church Children and Youth programs or UU Society of Mill Creek
Minister’s fund.

The family would like to thank friends and neighbors and the
staff of Heartland Hospice Center for their concern and support.
