47th Annual Antiques Show at the Brandywine River Museum of Art

On Memorial Day weekend explore three floors of one-of-a-kind antiques, treat yourself to one of our most decadent parties of the year, and go behind-the-scenes to learn about the art of collecting from the antique dealers at our 47th Annual Antiques Show.

Held at the Brandywine River Museum of Art, the show features a carefully selected collection of fine antiques including furniture, rugs, porcelain, decorative arts, needlework and much more from 26 of the country's most distinguished dealers, hailing from 10 states across the mid-Atlantic.

For an exclusive first look at the dealer booths, the Brandywine's Antiques Show Preview Party will be held on Friday evening, May 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. Complete with live music, an open bar and delicious hors d'oeuvres including smoked salmon, lollipop lamb chops, carving stations, amazing desserts and a full-scale sushi bar. The Preview Party is the not-to-be-missed event of the season.

The Antiques Show continues Saturday through Monday, May 26-28, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Admission includes entry to the Museum and its galleries of renowned Wyeth and American art, including its special exhibition, The Way Back: The Paintings of George A. Weymouth, on-view through June 3 and Southwestern Son: The Lithographs of Peter Hurd on view through July 8.

Additional special events throughout the weekend include the "Antiques Show Breakfast and Lecture" on Saturday, May 26 in the Millstone Café. A continental breakfast and lecture by James H. Duff, Director Emeritus of the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art, on Exploring the Roots of this Treasured Event.

"A Passion for Collecting: Dealer Talks" will be given on Sunday and Monday.

11:30 a.m.: Early Pittsburgh Glass:1797–1850 by Harley N. Trice

12:30 p.m.: Smart Ways to Turn Your Antiques into Cash by Lee Hanes

1:30 p.m.: Delftware: Not just from the Netherlands by Mark Allen

MONDAY, MAY 28

10:30 a.m.: Staffordshire Pottery by Michael Weinberg

11:30 a.m.: Fine Points of American Furniture by Bob Haneberg

12:30 p.m.: Oriental Rugs by Frank Shaia

1:30 p.m.: Chinese Export Porcelain by Phil Dubey
