The names Wyeth and Kuerner are virtually synonymous with Chadds Ford. Indeed, the Kuerner Farm on Ring Road inspired almost 1,000 of those iconic paintings by the late Andrew Wyeth. Chadds Ford resident Mark Stookey says the reason the district gave for not retaining a third party to analyze the numbers for a new school was based on what he considers a lie.

Despite the objections of more than a dozen residents, the Unionville-Chadds Ford School Board directors unanimously gave the go-ahead for the design phase of a new middle school. The board also voted to approve the budget for the next academic year. Next year’s budget calls for appropriations of $108,417,730 and includes tax increases for property owners in the district. Chadds Ford Township Board of Supervisors on Wednesday honored one resident, made a new hire, and passed a new ordinance.
